Transcending Desire - (so that it is possible to keep the tenth commandment)
The tenth commandment is not to covet, which means want what you do not have - but others do too have.
It would not be a problem to desire what you yourself have. You have it. If you only desire what you yourself have, you exist in a state of satisfaction. You do not have to cause trouble for others to feel satisfied.
In this paper ( https://neurolaunch.com/premature-ejaculation-and-serotonin/ ), elevated dopamine levels or dopamine sensitivity is linked to premature ejaculations, but dopamine itself is also linked to desire so emphatically that even sexual desire may not exist in its absence.
If desire is rooted in dopamine, transcending desire may merely require minimizing dopamine levels.
Dopamine has been linked to extroverted personality, which seems to me to connect it with pride. I also suspect most people who have taken potent dopamine stimulants, such as cocaine, meth, and heroin, have experienced an increase in impulsiveness and a boost in pride.
Numbers 12:3 Now the man Moses was very humble, more so than anyone on the face of the earth.
Pride is famously identified as a sin throughout the Bible. If Moses was chosen by God, his humility was likely one reason why he was chosen. Minimizing pride may minimize dopamine levels, and transcend desire.
I suspect that the symbolism behind the Jewish tradition of circumcision is the need to be capable of cutting "your own penis 'off'" to the extent of transcending desire in the form of lust when it is in the way. Lust is covetous when you are not "married," when you do not possess the consent of your partner.
Serotonin has been linked to spiritual feelings, which seems to me bluntly connected to love. What is a "spiritual feeling" if not an elevation in one's experience of love?
Serotonin is thought to delay orgasm because it competes with / inhibits desire.
Serotonin and dopamine are considered the two most plausible causes of hallucinations in schizophrenics and LSD trippers. The typical and atypical antipsychotics primarily inhibit serotonin and dopamine to decrease the frequency of hallucinations. I suspect that when both exist in high levels within the brain, they interact to induce a hallucinatory experience because love boosts creativity and pride boosts psychological instinctive inference / impulsiveness, inducing creative impulsiveness.
A delusion or a hallucination could be described as an impulsive creative inference.
In one isolated case ( https://psychiatryonline.org/doi/10.1176/ajp.140.4.456 ), the precursor for serotonin, 5-htp, which increases serotonin levels in the brain, was used to successfully treat lsd-induced hallucinations. This is unusual because it would mean elevating serotonin levels mediated hallucinations from a serotonergic psychedelic. I suspect it worked because 5-htp also lowers dopamine levels, establishing a case for that serotonin levels may remain elevated if dopamine levels are reduced and hallucinations can still be defeated.
A deficiency in dopamine is a suspected cause of Parkinson's. I suspect Michael J Fox, based upon how he carries himself as an actor, of being a humble individual - and he famously has Parkinson's. It is my opinion that Parkinson's is caused by neurological depression corresponding to a dopamine deficiency, and that it wouldn't occur if serotonin levels were elevated significantly to mediate the lowered dopamine levels.
Recently, psilocybin was used as an experimental treatment for Parkinson’s, and it seemed like an extremely effective treatment.
“There were no serious adverse events, no medical interventions required to manage effects of psilocybin, and no exacerbation of psychosis.” - Psilocybin Shows Promise for Parkinson’s Mood and Motor Symptoms - Neuroscience News.
"Exacerbation of psychosis" means worsening of psychosis or hallucinations. Meaning if the patient wasn't already hallucinating (psychosis), they didn't start because taking a high dosage of a psychedelic.
When wandering the Desert of Sin or Sinai in Exodus, manna from heaven rained down on the starving chosen people so that they could cope with the hardships of the desert. One possible explanation of the story is that manna from heaven symbolizes love from a spiritual sacrament like hallucinogenic mushrooms. Heaven is the place of spiritual energy or love, and in the desert of sin love can be difficult to come by.
However; wouldn't hallucinations be likely to result from hallucinogenic mushroom consumption even if the devotee learned to regulate hir own supply of pride, minimizing it on the way up on the drug, or holding hirself to recognizance to a skilled telepath on the way up to having minimal pride, without further scientific research? And overdoing a hallucinogen can even cause permanent schizophrenia.
I believe when serotonin / love is primarily in control of an individual's nervous system, they are less instinctive and "still" unless they choose to move the mind / nervous system rapidly, and that it becomes possible to regulate functions such as sexual and other forms of desire.
Surah 6, Al-An'am, translates in English to "the Cattle". Al An Am rearranged spells anamal = al mana. Al means "the" in Arabic. Mana from animal symbolic of cow could mean hallucinogenic mushrooms because they grow from cow feces, and this is primarily how they are discovered. Of course, worship not the golden calf, and project not into false idols - there is a sign to the spelling of the Surah, but it is subtle, and possibly meaningless / disappointing.
On the other hand, maybe they tried to worship the golden cattle in the first place because they considered it the source of their spiritual energy, as a result of that their manna grew on its feces. And maybe cattle are considered sacred in India for similar reasons.
